Brew-masters´ Training Microbrewery Suchdolsky Jenik – Brewster Yard Chyne – Monastic Brewery Strahov

We will commence in the morning in the former brewery Brandeis Grange from where we will …
… get in a couple of minutes to microbrewery Suchdolsky Jenik (Jack´s), which forms a part of the Czech Agricultural University. For its sightseeing you will be piloted by Mr. Ladislav Chladek, local brewer, beer trade expert and popular columnist who will take care about the drinks to taste.
Then we will take a minibus transfer to Brewster Yard Chyne some 16 km west of Prague, by-passing former malt-house of Podbaba, …
… former Priory Brewery and famous Brevnov Monastery.
At Chyne you will visit the first private brewery that was established after the fall of Communism – thus the first attempt that challenged the former state-run industrial brewing monopoly. There your sightseeing and beer tasting will be supervised by Mr. Tomas Mikulica, local brewer who will answer your questions. The lunch will be also at Brewster Yard.
After that we will set out for the most successful minibrewery in the last two years: to Monastery Brewery at Strahov. En route there you will pass around formerly abandoned but now newly refurbished small breweries of Motol and Kosire, …
… as well as the former Schwarzenberg´s Brewery, where at the end of 18th century the most reputable Czech brewer F. O. Poupe experimented with new technologies, which set the standards of both the modern brewing and the “Czech beer”.
At Strahov Monastery Brewery there will wait for you Mr. Martin Matuska – the Brewer 2006 award winner – who will introduce the local specials.
Then you will take a walk down the Castle Hill, enjoying one of the most splendid views of Prague. Our next destination will be the medieval ale-house “At Seven Cockroaches” where you will have the dinner and a lot of ales to choose from.
